Our projects

La Fondation Donnadieu, under the aegis of the Fondation pour l'Enfance, a non-profit organization, uses culture to help young people, particularly those facing mental and/or physical isolation. It aims to develop young people's thinking andopen-mindedness by spreading the values of cultural diversity,otherness and respect.

Radicalization

The project

The cultures of the world in miniature, gathered in tribute to Childhood.
Locations

Benin, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Togo

Beneficiaries

Profile: Peuhl youth at risk of radicalization andarmed recruitment

Number: several thousand (depending on geographic coverage)


Resources

- Psychological palliatives: presentation of the Culture(s) collection, individualized book sharing, discussions on life, its meaning and its rules.


- Economic palliatives: setting up income-generating activities through vocational training.

Objectives

Prevent radicalization and armed recruitment through psychological and economic action:


- Raising young people's awareness of the value of peace

- Training young people for a career

Results

- Made aware of the values of cultural diversity embodied in the Culture(s) collection, young people prefer otherness and respect to identitarian withdrawal and adversity towards others.


- Equipped with a lucrative trade, young people are no longer inclined to enlist for financial reasons.

The young beneficiaries gain in curiosity, open-mindedness, confidence and self-esteem:


- Aware of the diversity of the world's cultures, and the values ofotherness.


- Introduced to the meanings and rules of life, with a view to raising awareness.


- Introduced to art through hands-on creation.


- Initiated to public speaking.

Culture(s) - The living and the afterlife in the art of mankind

Co-published by the Fondation Donnadieu and Éditions 5 Continents, the book Culture(s)with a preface by H.R.H. The Princess of Hanover, presents 99 antique masterpieces in miniature from the Donnadieu collection, depicting man and beast through the ancient cultures of 5 continents over nearly 10,000 years of human history, photographed by the renowned photographer Luigi Spina.

The project

Presented by the Fondation Donnadieu from September 27 to October 17, 2023 in the Atrium of the Casino de Monaco, the Culture(s) exhibition brought together 60 miniature antique sculptures from the Donnadieu collection, from all 5 continents and spanning almost 10,000 years of human history, in honor of the 60 years dedicated to protecting the world's children byAMADE (Association Mondiale des Amis de l'Enfance), co-founded by Princess Grace and presided over by H.R.H. The Princess of Hanover.
